Boss loot rolls for the whole party

Co-opFixes
  • When a boss dies in co-op, every hero gets an individual roll for their class’s gear, including downed heroes. Previously only the player who landed the killing blow got the roll.
  • Guests again receive the host’s world updates up to 60 times a second, and their actions reach the host immediately. This fixes the choppy feel introduced by 0.114.1’s batching.
  • A guest who ends their run also leaves the lobby and returns to the lobby list.

0.114.1

Batched co-op updates

Co-opPerformance
  • Co-op updates are bundled into fewer, larger packets, sent up to 20 times a second to reduce server load with many parties online.
  • Version 0.114.2 later changes guest synchronization to address the resulting choppiness.

Dedicated co-op servers

Co-opPerformance
  • Co-op runs move to dedicated servers, separate from website downloads, to reduce the effect of download traffic on parties.
  • Party members need version 0.114.0 or newer.

0.113.3

Party buffs, more chests and individual languages

Co-opFixes
  • Each player sees their own selected language instead of the host’s.
  • Each extra player adds 50% more chests; a five-player party finds three times the solo amount.
  • Battle Shout and Power Word: Shield also affect friends within 30 yards.
  • Fixes downed guests still appearing able to move on their own screen while their attacks did nothing.
Official update post ↗
0.113.2

Less co-op traffic and bandwidth

Co-opPerformance
  • The host bundles and compresses updates. The official post reports about ten times fewer messages and half the data.
  • Messages arrive faster, improving latency in large late-run fights.

Choose lobby capacity

Co-op
  • Hosts can set a lobby size of 1–5 players. Full lobbies leave the public list.
  • The lobby list scrolls beyond the first eight entries. This version also includes co-op performance fixes.

0.113.0

Five-player co-op arrives

Co-opNew content
  • Up to five heroes play together with their own gear, talents and perks. The host chooses the zone; everyone must have unlocked it with their current class.
  • Public and private code-protected lobbies are supported. More players mean stronger hordes and bosses, scaled to heroes still standing.
  • Experience and gold are shared; each hero buys their own caches. Picking cards pauses only that player, unless the whole party is choosing.
  • Stand beside a downed friend for 6 seconds to revive them. The run ends when everyone is down. Healing also reaches friends within 30 yards.
  • A guardian killed by any player rewards the whole party. Adds party frames, chat, party DPS statistics and inspection of friends’ jewelry.
  • After victory, the host can lead the party into endless mode. The party stays together after a run, and each player keeps their gear, talent experience, achievements and zone unlocks in their own save.

Demonic Empowerment retuned; Star of Mystaria becomes a trinket

BalanceFixes
  • Demonic Empowerment grants +40% demon damage for 8 seconds every 16 seconds. Upgrades extend duration and shorten cooldown until the effect can stay active continuously. It does not increase demon attack speed.
  • The Legionlord’s Medallion doubles duration and strength and cuts cooldown by 35%, growing similarly to The Eternal Talisman. Its separate demon damage bonus and fixed ten-rank table are removed.
  • Doomguard’s Doom Bringer cap becomes +60/80/100% by talent rank. Soul Reaping becomes 5/7.5/10% of the remaining Drain Life damage.
  • Pit Lord’s primary-target bonus becomes 25%, with at most six targets. Summoning it no longer locks the hero in place.
  • The Star of Mystaria becomes a trinket: its first pick grants +25% maximum health and +4% damage reduction. It can be worn with the Animated Chain Necklace.

Warlock balance pass and boss achievement rewards

BalanceNew content
  • All demon attacks, casts and Hellfire pulses scale with the hero’s cooldown reduction, no faster than once every 0.5 seconds. Demonic Empowerment no longer adds attack speed.
  • The Felguard or Pit Lord arrives immediately, lasts 20 seconds and returns every 30 seconds, reducible to 13 seconds. Up to two can coexist.
  • Legion Gate sends three random lesser demons every 4 seconds, alternating 16- and 12-second lifetimes, up to twelve. The permanent Imp and companion do not count toward this limit.
  • Felhunter gains a damage-over-time consumption mechanic. Succubus, Voidwalker, Doomguard and Infernal are retuned. Demonic Supremacy gives each of four lesser-demon talents a replacement effect.
  • Affliction and Destruction talents move and change: Soul Reaping is added, Bane has three ranks, and Intensity has five ranks of Soulfire damage. Moved talent points may need spending again.
  • Adds eleven boss achievements with rewards including companions, the Defias Bandana and appearances. Rewards gains an Appearances page and a Back slot for cloaks.
  • Adds summon-related addon APIs and downloaded-client combat-log saving, plus scrolling fixes for long talent descriptions, equipment and companion appearances.

SystemFixes
  • Key bindings can be changed from the pause menu’s Options page and apply immediately. Assigning a key no longer also performs its previous action.

  • Completes translations for the reworked Demonology talents, Legionlord’s Medallion and boss phase lines.

New action bar and removal of roots

SystemBalance
  • The action bar has six spell slots, a separate racial slot and an experience bar with visible numbers.
  • Before endless mode, being hit by a boss or guardian ground mechanic deals twice the previous damage. Endless is unchanged.
  • Boss and guardian Frost Nova, Entangling Roots and Deep Sleep no longer root heroes. The follow-up attack still needs dodging.
  • Boot movement speed becomes 2.5 times its previous value. The passage behind the Scarlet Monastery altar and Whitemane’s chapel join the battlefield.
  • Hero names can contain one space and up to twenty letters. Rune pickup notices use the player’s language.

Distinct boss and guardian mechanics

New contentBalance
  • All sixty bosses and thirty-seven guardian kinds receive distinct attacks and phases instead of sharing charges and stomps.
  • Adds knockbacks, eggs, healing wards, shielding totems, chasing orbs, draining tethers, shockwaves, burning ground, alternating lanes and bombs that can also damage the horde.
  • Single-target spells prioritize mechanic objects. Ossirian’s crystals remove his shield and temporarily make him take 50% more damage.
  • The stationary gaze and roots introduced here are later removed in 0.112.2 and 0.108.0 respectively.

  • Doomguard, Felguard and Felhunter are retuned. The damage meter gives each demon its own bar and attack details.
  • Fixes unlimited Demonic Empowerment growth. The cap and ten-rank medallion table from this version are later revised in 0.110.0 and 0.111.0.
  • At most forty totems of each kind can coexist; adding another removes the oldest. End-of-run damage no longer includes overkill.
