Know what you are walking into.
Five illustrated profiles with current-client base stats, configured attacks and a response to consider.
Hogger
- Base health
- 3,600
- Base hit
- 22
- Base move speed
- 5.6
Charges + reinforcement waves
Watch for
Keep an escape lane open. A charge is harder to handle when a fresh pack has already boxed you in.
Suggested response
Clear room around yourself before chasing more damage on the boss.
Mother Fang
- Base health
- 9,000
- Base hit
- 30
- Base move speed
- 6.0
Roots + reinforcement waves
Watch for
Entangling Roots is the control spell in her configuration. Getting held in place beside a pack is the danger to plan around.
Suggested response
Favor space and a defensive buffer over standing still for one more damage tick.
Rhahk'Zor
- Base health
- 17,000
- Base hit
- 38
- Base move speed
- 5.4
War Stomp + charges + reinforcements
Watch for
War Stomp adds close-range control to a boss that also charges. A large health pool alone does not prevent being trapped.
Suggested response
Leave a clear direction to move. Avoid letting the reinforcement pack close every exit.
Mr. Smite
- Base health
- 28,000
- Base hit
- 46
- Base move speed
- 6.2
Thunder Clap + charges + reinforcements
Watch for
His configured area spell is Thunder Clap. Staying in the middle of the boss and his pack adds unnecessary pressure.
Suggested response
Work from the edge of the pack and preserve the recovery that got you through the earlier bosses.
Edwin VanCleef
- Base health
- 52,500
- Base hit
- 54
- Base move speed
- 6.6
Charges + Whirlwind + ground fire + reinforcements
Watch for
His configuration combines Whirlwind with Rain of Fire / Explosive Trap Effect. Treat close-range pressure and dangerous ground as separate problems.
Suggested response
Move out of damaging ground, keep room around the boss, and do not ignore the reinforcement pack just because his health is low.

Run Options
Note the difficulty. Keep it the same when comparing two attempts.
Open the creator’s game ↗, select Elwynn, then use Enter or the enter-zone button. Click the game before using movement keys. Controls guide →
Pick the effect you need.
Here are three cards from our own early Paladin run. One protects, one chains damage, one retaliates.

Divine Shield
Temporary immunity. The photographed card auto-casts below 35% health.
A safety net, not permanent protection.

Redemption
Kills can trigger a nearby holy explosion, which can set off another burst.
It does not heal you. “Epic” does not make it the defensive pick.

Holy Shield
During its active window, enemies that hit you in melee take damage.
The card has a duration and cooldown. Taking extra hits can still kill you.
Our October 19 card capture. These are three offered choices, not a guaranteed roll or a required three-spell loadout. Check today’s card for current numbers.
Make the next choice count.
Get your starting spell working.
Watch where it hits. If enemies reach you before it helps, adjust your movement before adding another spell.
Fix the problem you can see.
Sudden deaths call for defense. Health that stays low calls for recovery. A healthy but slow run needs damage.
Keep the support that got you here.
A higher-rarity damage pick may cost you the effect keeping you alive. VanCleef still needs to die after he arrives.
Suggested decision points, not verified boss attack tactics. For a specific spell interaction, see the Paladin Protection route.
Still locked? Check the condition.

I reached 16:00. Why is Duskwood locked?
Reaching the time only brings VanCleef into the run. The displayed condition is to defeat him. Check the selected character’s zone menu after the fight.
Which build should I take into Elwynn?
Use a route your current points and gear support. The Paladin guide separates a fresh Consecration start from the 20-point hammer-and-shield loop. Don’t plan your first run around a milestone you have not unlocked.
